interventions in immovable cultural heritage during 2024
Access to the Charterhouse of Talamanca
The Cartuja de Talamanca de Jarama is a group of agricultural farms from the 16th-17th century that preserves much of the architectural and cultural memory of the installation of the Carthusian friars of the Monastery of El Paular.
Within the successive phases of restoration of the complex, work is being done on the main access to the enclosure (cornices, ashlars, shield...). The objective is to clean, rehabilitate the construction elements that make up the main access, eliminate pathological processes and consolidate its factories. The wooden gate, its structure and hardware are also being restored.

Moat of the Arroyomolinos Tower
The Arroyomolinos Tower is a rectangular construction with rounded corners on the outside, built in the Late Middle Ages around 1470 by Juan de Oviedo.
The entire immediate surroundings of the tower have been the subject of various archaeological interventions and restorations since the 2024s. In XNUMX, the moat was worked on, that is, its defensive perimeter consisting of a wall that descended vertically like a cliff until reaching the bottom. It is one of the most common construction resources in this type of fortress.
The aim was to consolidate the state of conservation of the northern scarp and ditch, which were severely degraded due to the detachment of ceramic elements and excessive vegetation growth.
Stage covers of the Diéguez Theater
In 2023, 2 covers of the Diéguez theater, located in Colmenar de Oreja, on the body of the stalls, were restored. During the course of these works, the poor condition of the covers on the stage box was discovered.
The purpose of the current intervention is to repair these roofs that present leaks, for which the entire surface will be lifted and a new roof will be built.
Forgings of the old convent of Lozoya
This building in Lozoya, a former palace from the 2023th century, transformed into a convent in the XNUMXth century, has been the subject of a major restoration project during XNUMX.
The current intervention aims to provide a solution to structural problems that the building has, specifically the restoration of the slabs on the first floor with a mixed system of wood and concrete, as well as carrying out a study of the building's foundation; all of this under archaeological monitoring.

Fountain of the Villa in Valdemoro
The Fuente de la Villa de Valdemoro is located in the southeastern area of the municipality, with its back to the old laundry. Built in stone and bronze in 1605 by the Valdemoro Council itself with a dual purpose, ornamental and functional, throughout its history it underwent some modifications with the aim of expanding its use, such as, for example, its conversion into a watering hole.
The objective of the intervention is to stop the current degradation process in its stone and metal elements, caused by weather conditions, the appearance of mosses and lichens or dirt, among other agents.
Santorcaz Castle walled enclosure
The consolidation and restoration work on the outer wall between the watchtower and the second circular tower of the walled enclosure of the castle of Torremocha de Santorcaz, as well as the adaptation of the immediate surroundings, establishes as a priority the consolidation of the remains of the wall, following the intervention criteria carried out in the previous works in the castle of Torremocha between the years 2017 and 2023, to signify knowledge about the built complex, as well as to promote the dissemination of the heritage values of the property and the context in which it is located.

The Fuente Gorda or del Rodeo is located in the center of Talamanca de Jarama, in a pedestrian area in the Parque del Rodeo, next to the remains of the medieval wall in the southern area of the historic almond of the municipality.
The current intervention focuses on the restoration of the fountain, and the recovery of its flow, through the understanding of its finishes and specific elements such as pipes and basins, with the installation of a water recirculation motor.
