Transfer, Disclosure and Training
IMIDRA transfers knowledge generated by its R&D to the rural, agricultural and food sectors, to take advantage of innovation opportunities and solve problems.
In the Transfer, Dissemination and Training Area we evaluate the innovative potential of the knowledge generated in IMIDRA, we add value for its application, and we transfer and disseminate it. We organize training courses aimed at rural and agricultural areas and we manage student internships in our centers. We develop R&D projects with high risk / high technological potential approaches, and on how to improve transfer from public R&D. We also participate in projects from other Areas and entities.

Training
Courses
We provide free training courses to acquire skills in the economic sectors of the Community of Madrid linked to the natural environment, including the agricultural, agri-food and forestry sectors.
Conferences and workshops
We participate in Science and Innovation Week held annually, organized by Madrimasd. In 2022 we carried out the following activities in the IMIDRA centers:
- El Encín: conserving biodiversity, observing history
- The chickpea, from the field to the table. Technological innovations: the GO TecnoGAR project
- The science of bread... it has a lot of crumb!
- La Isla Forestal de Madrid (BIFORMAD): the wild flora germplasm bank of the CM
- Improving tree cloning and conservation techniques: rejuvenate to stay
- Here everything is used! Science and cooking to the rescue of food waste
- What does Madrid smell like? The secrets of our aromatic plants
Academic practices
We collaborate with educational centers to carry out the academic practices of the students. Consult our lines of work on the pages of the areas of Agrifood Research, Agro-environmental Research, Applied Research and Agricultural Extension, Forest Research y Transfer, Disclosure and Training; as well as the centers where we develop them: The Oak, Fireplace, The Island, Nursery of El Escorial, Island Nursery, undercover y Gastronomic Innovation Center.
In order for you to do your internship with us, there must be a prior agreement between IMIDRA and your university or study center. Write us at transfer.imidra@madrid.org to find out if there is or see the possibility of doing so.
Stays for expansion or improvement of knowledge
If you are developing R&D or technical activities in an entity and wish to carry out a stay to expand or improve your knowledge and skills, present your application. Previously you must have the acceptance of the IMIDRA person who will tutor you. It is a different modality from the academic practices for students. For more information contact us at transfer.imidra@madrid.org.
Projects
conagr. New models of interactive agricultural knowledge: innovation in the main crops of the Community of Madrid.
We seek to improve the exchange of agricultural knowledge between farmers, industry, suppliers, associations, public administration, and universities and R&D centers. We do this by analyzing the routes for the circulation of knowledge in the cereal, olive, viticultural and horticultural sectors of our region and preparing proposals to optimize them. It is a joint project with the Area of Applied Research and Agrarian Extension.
PLAGASOL. Improvement of pest control in fruit trees with non-polluting methods.
The aphid in fruit trees is one of the most harmful pests due to the difficulty of eradicating them. This project seeks its control through a ring-shaped device that surrounds the trunk and prevents the passage of ants that protect the aphids, avoiding or minimizing the use of pesticides. In addition, its possible potential for the control of other pests and in other types of crops is being evaluated. The device has been devised by entrepreneurs from the Community of Madrid.
VALSAGUA. Increased efficiency of irrigation in agriculture by optimizing the physical properties of water.
We propose that the use of water for irrigation in agriculture be more efficient, changing to a minimum the form currently used. For this, we tested a system based on the action of nanoparticles that modifies, without passing water, its physical properties (surface tension and capillarity), not the chemical ones. This can allow using less water because its efficiency is higher. The technology is being developed by entrepreneurs from Madrid. It is a joint project with the Research Areas Agrifood, agri-environmental y Forest.
ECOZUVA. Establishment of a system of ecological production of grape juice in the community of Madrid.
We tested a management system to maximize the profitability of organically grown vines that are resistant to pests and diseases, as well as the potential of the resulting juices. This project also makes it possible to control the nutritional composition and antioxidant properties of the juices. All this with the ultimate goal of promoting the grape juice sector in our region, contributing to the economic diversification of farmers. It is a joint project with the Agrifood Research Area.
