The program includes a detailed set of measures and lays the groundwork for implementing strategic guidelines that promote modernization and the adoption of technology in the region's livestock activities, in line with the sustainability and digitalization objectives outlined in the Government Program.
Framework
The Community of Madrid combines its innovative potential with the importance its population places on the sustainability of its production models. The incorporation of new technologies, improved digital infrastructure, and ongoing training will improve production and animal welfare, making livestock farming more attractive to new professionals. Furthermore, preserving the cultural and territorial value of livestock farming will serve to maintain the region's ethnological and landscape heritage, ensuring the future prospects of the rural world.
The Digitalization Department of the Community of Madrid is developing “The Digitalization Strategy of the Community of Madrid 2023-2026", including the digitalization of the livestock sector through the incorporation of advanced technologiesThe goal is to provide the sector with digital tools that improve its efficiency, sustainability, and well-being, recognizing its economic, cultural, and territorial value, while transforming traditional livestock practices.
The Region of Madrid works transversally and jointly from different areas; the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture, and the Interior through the General Directorate of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food, and IMIDRA, the Ministry of Digitalization and Digital Madrid, with a common goal: the improvement and advancement of the situation of the Madrid livestock sector. The various digital tools currently in place, but whose information and access are decentralized and dispersed, will be centralized in a single location to facilitate their use by livestock farmers.
