IMIDRA offers technical assistance to the agricultural, forestry, livestock and other sectors active in the natural environment of the Community of Madrid.
We carry out analysis of wines and derivatives and olive oil. We are accredited according to the standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for physical-chemical analysis of wines and physical-chemical and sensory analysis of olive oil (Accreditation no. 402/LE868). We are part of the REDLAB of CM laboratories.
The determinations are covered by the ENAC accreditation nº 402/LE868, except those indicated with an asterisk (*)

We carry out filiation and genetic identification studies of sheep, goats and bovine species, to confirm the paternity/maternity of the animals as required by the Herd Books, and at the request of individuals. Specific microsatellite panels are used for each species that include the markers recommended by the ISAG (International Society for Animal Genetics).
We analyze samples for official dairy control of cattle, sheep and goats, for official inspections included in milk quality control programs at origin, and those sent by individuals. We are accredited according to the standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Accreditation no. 402/LE2208) and we are part of the REDLAB of CM laboratories.
Official Dairy Control of cattle, sheep and goats, as the main activity.
Official inspections included in milk quality control programs at origin.
Individuals, sent by farmers, veterinarians, laboratories, etc.
In all of them, the content of Fat, Protein, Lactose, Total Dry Extract and the Count of somatic cells (automatic analysis) are determined with instrumental methods, and in some the Cryoscopic Point or freezing point of the milk (manual analysis).
We identify vine varieties by molecular markers using plant DNA. These markers are called microsatellites and are routinely used worldwide. The analyzes are carried out according to the Standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017. We also participate in R&D projects for vine improvement.
Once completed, at least 24 hours before sending the samples, send it in Word format to firstname.lastname@example.org, and then attach the paper copy to the samples. The reception of samples in the laboratory will be from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m.
The analyzes will preferably be carried out using young vine leaves that have recently sprouted, although it can also be considered starting from shoots or bunches of rachis.
We analyze seminal doses from third countries (Authorized Sperm Collection Center suitable for Intra-Community Exchange). We also offer this service to individuals who want to verify the status of seminal doses or stallions. (Authorized sperm collection center subject to exceptions).
Since 2017 we are the only European laboratory that has these analyzes accredited (Accreditation no. 402/LE2208). Currently, this accreditation is on voluntary temporary suspension due to the absence of a Technical Manager, but the non-accredited service continues to be offered.
We carry out analysis of plant samples, soil, water and other matrices for the diagnosis of pathogenic agents that cause pests and diseases that affect crops of agronomic, ornamental, forestry or other interest, both arthropods and nematodes as well as fungi, bacteria, viruses, viroids and phytoplasmas.
As Official Plant Health Laboratory, we collaborate in surveys of quarantine organizations in the Community of Madrid. We also support R&D projects in relation to plant pathogens.
We carry out physical-chemical analyzes of soils and waters for farmers, cooperatives and other Institutions. In this way, they can know their soil better and make the most appropriate decisions regarding fertilizers, amendments and crops.
We have two centers (CENSYRA y Fireplace) in which to test male breeders registered in their respective Stud Books for associations that are collaborating with the National Selection Scheme of each breed to choose the best-formed animals with the greatest meat use.
It is the largest collection of vines in Spain and the third in the world. It is made up of more than 3.500 accessions and is located in The Oak (Alcalá de Henares).
You can consult information about the vine varieties of this collection in this link.
National Animal Germplasm Bank
The bank has entrusted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the functions of guarantor and custodian of the security duplicate of the germplasm banks of the conservation programs for each race. The objective is to contribute to the National Program for the Conservation, Improvement and Promotion of Livestock Breeds, ensuring the conservation of breeds in danger of extinction and protecting the genetic variability of certain breeds.
Additionally the CENSYRA Germplasm Bank preserves and distributes material for assisted reproduction in genetic improvement programs. He CENSYRA Historical Semen Bank It stores all the animal genetic material that has passed through the center.
