Alert: prevention of the risk of falling from roofs

This project is developed through two campaigns:

• Information campaign on specific jobs in construction sites. Awareness-raising actions are carried out by disseminating information to prevent the risk of falling from height due to work on roofs. The objective of this campaign is on companies in the Community of Madrid that notify the opening of temporary work centers. 
• "A tall job" campaign. By visiting construction sites in the Community of Madrid, companies are advised on the correct choice and use of equipment and collective protection to avoid the risk of falling from height. It is planned to perform in 150 works during the year 2024.

Specific risk campaign: roofs and attics. This is a priority line of work, created in 2019, aimed at advising companies whose activity corresponds to the industrial sector in relation to the prevention of risks associated with falls from heights from roofs and attics. To date, action has been taken in 91 work centers. 

Preventive advice campaign on the installation and electrical maintenance of photovoltaic panels. The installation of these energy elements has increased considerably in recent years. As a consequence, and taking into account the risk of falling from a height, a work schedule has been developed since 2023 that includes the publication and dissemination of tutorial videos on connection, maintenance and installation on photovoltaic panel roofs; the study of the legal obligations of the different agents involved in the organization, design, assembly and operation and maintenance of photovoltaic installations; as well as advisory visits to specialized companies in the sector. 

All serious, very serious, fatal and multiple accidents related to falls from roofs are investigated, in addition to minor accidents that are considered relevant for the prevention of other similar events.
