Region Mission Project
A unique project on the value of the landscape as heritage
The Mission Region project puts the emphasis on how we inhabit, transform and interpret our environment; understanding the landscape as a family book, testimony of history and portrait of its inhabitants.
Promoted by the General Subdirectorate of Historical Heritage, the project arises during the first half of 2022, when 17 female photographers and 16 male photographers They toured the Community of Madrid with the aim of portraying the Madrid landscape from a heritage point of view. Thus began a historic photographic mission that would result in a collection of almost 2000 photographs, which today are part of Madrid's heritage, preserved in its Regional Archive.
The photographic mission was followed by several temporary exhibitions, a catalog and educational and citizen participation projects that are still ongoing.
