This is how it was...the online call for My Region
The great collective album about the daily landscape of the Community of Madrid
Starting from a vision of the contemporary, dynamic and diverse cultural landscape, the citizen participation initiative My Region sought to advance along the path initiated by the project MISSION REGION, with which the Community of Madrid generated a historical photographic collection of all its municipalities based on the views of 33 photographers.
My Region was then conceived as a step further, giving prominence to citizens with an open invitation to all those who wanted to freely contribute to the creation of this great collective album by walking and photographing their daily landscape. From the way to work to leisure spaces, natural or urban landscapes and those places that hold a special individual or collective meaning: their streets, neighborhoods, towns and festivals.
The collection of images was carried out in four campaigns, coinciding with the four seasons of the year. The album brought together photographs of large municipalities such as Leganés or Alcalá de Henares and some of the less populated in the region such as El Atazar, for a total of almost 2500 photographs from 134 different municipalities. A multiplicity of views that form a digital mosaic, a reflection of the diversity of ways of living in the Community of Madrid.
