IMIDRA carries out research and other scientific-technical activities related to forest species and the natural heritage of our forests.
In the Forest Research Area we preserve germplasm of unique trees (seeds, propagules or other plant tissues that allow their propagation), and we produce forest plants from seeds collected in forests and protected areas in Madrid. We also acclimatize species from other regions for their use in Madrid ecosystems.
These activities are carried out in the nurseries of the farms The Island y The Escorial. Furthermore, undercover we take care of the conservation and restoration of the wooded walks and orchards of the Historic Groves of Aranjuez.
