To access the employment services of the Community of Madrid, the worker must be registered as a jobseeker in the public employment service.
Registration as a job seeker can be carried out by any worker who needs to find a job, improve the one they have, request a service from the portfolio or an unemployment benefit.
Workers who want to register must reside in the Community of Madrid and be of working age. In addition, they must be in one of the following two cases:
- Being Spanish or from any country of the European Union or from the signatory countries of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and Switzerland, as well as a dependent spouse or child under 21 years of age or older.
- Being a non-EU foreign worker with recognition of access to the national market (CAS Order 3698/2006)

- Introduce oneself to the processes of selection of job offers or services to which it is summoned.
- Sign a personal employment agreement
- Communicate Variations that occur in your personal and professional data.

Job orientation and mediation
Professional Guidance is a comprehensive service that aims to provide information, diagnosis, advice, motivation and support to workers in labor transitions between situations of employment and unemployment that may occur throughout their working life.
The purpose of this service is to help users improve their employability, promote their professional career, facilitate their hiring or guide them towards self-employment.
The professional guidance service begins with an interview with the user where their skills, competencies, training, experience, interests, and any variables deemed relevant to prepare their individualized diagnosis and their professional profile are identified.
Using as a basis the diagnosis and professional profile made to the user, a personalized itinerary of actions aimed at their access to employment will be designed, which will include a calendar for completion and verification and monitoring elements.
In your itinerary, the professional alternatives, the training itinerary when necessary and the job search actions that the user must carry out will be identified.
To carry out this itinerary, it will be necessary to subscribe and sign a personal employment agreement between the user and the public employment service.
The user will have personalized accompaniment by a tutor in the realization of their itinerary.
The user, depending on their needs and expectations, may receive advice and/or technical support for the following activities and workshops:
- Workshops to improve job search (BAE): how to make my resume, how to face a job interview, how to look for a job through the internet and social networks, the job market, etc.
- Information and access to job vacancies, both public and private, which are managed in the network of employment offices of the Community of Madrid, as well as at the state level.
