European Documentation Center

The European Documentation Center of the Community of Madrid, created in 1988, attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and the Interior, is specialized in offering specialized information on the European Union to the general public, students, professionals and researchers.
The Center is intended to serve as a central point for receiving and disseminating all information related to community affairs. The Center has a reading room in the Library area where users can consult the collections and access the Personal Loan Service.

Library
La library It is made up of a collection of more than 9000 books and periodicals specialized in topics related to community policies, its institutions, the member countries and the history of Europe. It also has a specific section on the preparation of oppositions to EU institutions.
Citizens can check the library catalog, which also includes web resources (thematic portals, web pages, databases) on the European Union and its institutions, policies, law and community programmes.
The library of the European Documentation Center and Europe Direct of the Community of Madrid opens its doors from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 14 p.m., offering the book lending/returning service and in-person inquiries. Europe Direct Madrid Region
The European Documentation Center is the reception center of a point of the Europe Direct network of the European Commission, the objective of this network is to bring the European institutions closer to the citizens.The Europe Direct Information Center of the Community of Madrid will attend to face-to-face queries from users Monday to Friday from 9 to 14 hours without prior appointment and through the mail cde@madrid.org o europeanirect@madrid.org
EU Information Alert Service

Subscribed users receive weekly news on European legislation, bibliography and European funding programs, according to thematic profiles selected by them.
It is completely free and available to all citizens.
The databases on which the alert service works (legislation database, European funding programs and calls database and library catalogue) can also be consulted from the Online services portal of the European Documentation Center.

Centers of interest on training and employment in the European Union
The Centers of Interest on training and employment in the European Union (CIFES) begin their journey in 2012 in the context of the celebration of 20 years of the Single European Market. It is a project of the Europe direct - Community of Madrid in collaboration with the network of Eurolibraries and various offices of the City Councils of the region.
The CIFES emerge as a platform for dissemination and information on this matter. In them, different materials are made available to citizens and neighbors, such as job offers, calls, initiatives, documents of interest and news that are sent weekly. Monthly Practice Sheets are made available with basic information for job search or training in Europe and in the EU institutions.
