informative material
Europe Direct makes a wide variety of general information publications about the European Union available to citizens. For the most part, these are informative brochures published by the Community Institutions themselves, in which information related to the Community Institutions and bodies, current events in the EU or the various Community policies is presented in a clear and simple way.
If you are interested in obtaining a free copy, you can do so by going directly to the Europe Direct Community of Madrid facilities or by sending an email to europe.direct@madrid.org. Postal shipments will be made only within the territory of the Community of Madrid and are limited to three copies.
In Europe Direct we only have the versions in Spanish, but the Commission normally publishes the brochures in all the official languages of the European Union, so if you wish to receive a paper copy in another language, you can request it directly from the Publications Office of the European Union.
Eurolibraries Network
The Eurolibraries network is a Europe Direct initiative, a pioneer in the European Union, which emerged in 2003 with the aim of responding to the community information needs of citizens and involving them in the European construction project. To achieve this, it relies on the current network of Public, Municipal and Regional Libraries of the Community of Madrid.
The initiative, a pioneer in the European Union, arises thanks to the collaboration established between the Ministry of the Presidency and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid.
Currently, the Network is made up of a total of 110 public and municipal libraries that, from their facilities, offer all citizens general information about the European Union.
Among other services, the Eurolibraries make available to users a bibliographic collection specialized in the European Union and organize all kinds of activities -conferences, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, storytelling, etc.- on the occasion of the celebration on May 9, of the Europe day.
The network currently consists of the following libraries:

Centers of Interest on training and employment in the European Union
The Centers of Interest on training and employment in the European Union (CIFES) begin their journey in 2012 in the context of the celebration of 20 years of the Single European Market. It is a project of the Europe direct - Community of Madrid in collaboration with the network of Eurolibraries and various offices of the City Councils of the region.
The CIFES arise as a platform for dissemination and information on this matter, they make different materials available to citizens and neighbors such as job offers, calls, initiatives, documents of interest and news that are sent weekly. Monthly Practice Sheets are made available with basic information for job search or training in Europe and in the EU institutions.
The two key objectives of these centers or points of interest are:
*INFORM in a very practical way through a physical point accessible to citizens, of the possibilities of training and employment in Europe and
* DYNAMIZE all citizens and in particular the sectors of the population that may be of most interest to the matter dealt with (young people and the unemployed) so that they can participate in the proposed activities.
