Description of aids
One of the main measures for economic development is the provision of adequate means and infrastructure for the industrial and business fabric of the region. And within these infrastructures, the provision of broadband connectivity is framed, which has become a requirement for the development of practically all economic activities.
As part of the effort of the Digital Spain 2025 Agenda, the Plan for Connectivity and Digital Infrastructures of society, the economy and the territories (hereinafter, Plan for Connectivity), approved by the Council of Ministers on December 1 of 2020, contains as measure number 6 the reinforcement of connectivity in industrial estates and logistics centers, given that a significant number of these points with a high business concentration do not have adequate broadband connectivity for the development of their activity.
The magnitude of the economic, social and health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has required a common response at European level that has materialized with the launch of the new "NextGenerationEU Recovery Fund", whose purpose is to contribute to the recovery process. recovery of the Union's economies from 2021. Within this Fund, the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR), established by Regulation (EU) 2021/241 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of February 12, 2021 (MRR Regulation), will allow Spain to mobilize an unprecedented volume of investment.
In order to channel these investments, contributing to a solid and sustainable recovery of the Spanish economy, the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), reported favorably by the European Commission on June 16, 2021 and approved by the Council of the European Union on July 6, 2021, outlines the agenda for the modernization of the Spanish economy making use of the economic resources that will come from this Fund.
These aids are part of the investment C15.I2 "Actions to reinforce connectivity in centers of reference, socioeconomic engines and sectoral digitization driving projects" of component 15 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which includes actions to reinforce the connectivity in industrial estates and logistics centers (UNICO-Industry and Business Program) whose funds come from the “NextGenerationEU Recovery Fund”. For this reason, with these aids it is intended to partially contribute to the total quantitative objective of CID#238 of the C15.I2 investment, which provides that at least 1.600 small industrial estates and business areas reach a connectivity speed of 1 Gigabit and in which the Comunidad de Madrid will contribute, at least, with 118 performances.
The help lines that are launched in this call are:
- Line 1: Projects that provide very high-speed broadband network connectivity will be subsidized, capable of providing services at speeds of 1 Gbps to industrial estates and logistics centers located in the Community of Madrid, as well as other areas of high business concentration such as business parks, business incubators and technological or scientific parks of the Autonomous Community.
- 2i line: Projects will be subsidized to install high-speed electronic communications networks, capable of providing services at speeds of 1 Gbps in the different centers, units, facilities and dependencies of industrial estates and logistics centers located in the Community of Madrid, as well as other areas of high business concentration such as business parks, business incubators and technological or scientific parks of the Autonomous Community, as well as its adjacent industrial areas, in order to interconnect each of the centers, units, facilities and dependencies that make it up, within areas action materials located on land whose management corresponds to a public law entity

Natural or legal persons who hold the status of duly authorized operator may apply for this subsidy, in accordance with the provisions of articles 6 and 7 of Law 11/2022, of June 28, General Telecommunications.
Amount
These aids are endowed with a total amount of 7.342.500 euros.
