Madrid in three days
Suggestion before you start: if it&#XNUMX;s match day, take advantage and feel the football
Day 1.
XNUMX am-XNUMX pm. It doesn't matter which team you support! If you're a football fan and you're coming to Madrid, don't miss the Tour of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and visit to the Real Madrid trophy room, or the Wanda Metropolitano Tour to explore an impressive stadium.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. Head along the Paseo de la Castellana towards Colón. Walk around the Plaza del Descubrimiento, discover Calle Serrano, one of the most exclusive in the city, or visit the National Archaeological Museum, which contains a replica of the Caves of Altamira.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. It's time to grab lunch in one of the many restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood and then have a siesta to recharge the batteries.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. Let's spend this evening shopping in the Salamanca neighbourhood. In barely XNUMXkm², we come to the Golden Mile: the Mecca of luxury brands, fashion and glamour in Madrid. Top Spanish and international fashion brands will help you fill your wardrobe with the latest trends and find suitable clothes to make you stand out in the Madrid nightlife.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. Tapas in the neighbourhood! Discover the slices of tortilla (Spanish omelette), savour the creamy croquettes, enjoy a ración of Iberian ham and wash it all down with a nice cold caña or a nice glass of wine. Now we're ready for the Madrid nightlife. Head towards the area of Alonso Martínez, Malasaña or Chueca. Afterwards, continue the night in the city's clubs which stay open until well into the small hours.
2 days
XNUMX am-XNUMX pm. Culture is on the menu this morning. Let's visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum with almost one thousand works on display by great artists ranging from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth century. Then we'll use the rest of the morning to take photos of the Cibeles Fountain, stroll around the city centre and the Gran Vía looking for a souvenir, walking around Calle Alcalá, immortalising the 'Oso y el Madroño' (the Bear and the Strawberry Tree) in the Puerta del Sol, eating a calamari sandwich in the Plaza Mayor and having some tapas at Mercado de San Miguel.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. After an exquisite lunch in one of the many traditional restaurants in the neighbourhood of 'Madrid de los Austrias' (old centre of Madrid built during the reign of the Habsburg Dynasty), let's relax with a coffee in Plaza de Oriente. And then, the grand Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral, the fresh Sabatini Gardens and the tranquil sunset at the Temple of Debod round off this evening in the best possible way. Then treat yourself to a musical on the Gran Vía, Madrid's Broadway.
Day 3.
XNUMX am-XNUMX pm. Just over XNUMX km from the capital lies Alcalá de Henares, the destination of our final day in the Region of Madrid. Don't miss its University or Calle Mayor, its walls, Cervantes' Birthplace Museum or watching the storks fly. Take the whole morning, from XNUMX am to XNUMX pm, to experience the birthplace of Cervantes. Have some tapas in the city centre or taste the local cuisine in the Parador Hostería del Estudiante, located in an old XNUMXth century school-convent.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. Back in the city, let's have a rest in the Retiro Park. Some photos at the lake or at the Palacio de Cristal (crystal palace) are a must. Did you know that there is a statue dedicated to the devil in this park? Go and see it. It is the only one in the world dedicated to the Prince of Darkness.
XNUMX-XNUMX pm. What better plan than spending your last few hours in the city at the shops? You can go to Madrid city's various shopping areas or visit one of the shopping centres and outlets that are just a few kilometres outside of Madrid: the Plaza Norte, Xanadú or Las Rozas Village shopping centres are just a few options.
