Among the functions of the IRSST, is the analysis, mediation and intermediation in matters of psychological harassment at work (collected in Decree 56/2005, of June 30, which approves the organic structure of the Regional Institute of Safety and Health in Work, in point l).

To perform this function, the IRSST has the Psychosocial Risk Intermediation Service (SIRP).  

It is voluntary for workers and companies. It is an intervention proposal focused on evaluative, informative and instrumental support for those affected and aimed at improving psychosocial management in the company with the aim of promoting changes, understanding and acceptance, that improve the shared psychosocial environment.

It uses mediated tools in a methodological framework for conflict management and resolution. It is based on a psychosocial preventive approach, considering the presence of psychosocial risk factors that generate, maintain and escalate the dynamics of conflicts and on a health approach that addresses the manifestations of chronic stress with consequences of serious damage to people's health. affected.

The SIRP received the Prevencionar award in 2020, in the Best Preventive Practice category.
