CONDITIONING OF THE LAGOON SACK
Work: 1987/1988
With this action, the section between the Laguna station and the rest of the tunnel, including the refurbishment of the Lucero station, was provided with a track and overhead line.
INSTALLATION OF ATP (AUTOMATIC PROTECTION OF TRAINS ON LINES 1, 2, 3 AND 10 OF THE MADRID METRO

The ATP is a system that allows automatic supervision of train progress, establishing maximum speed levels for each of them. Exceeding these speeds by a given train motivates its immediate stop.
For this reason, that is, to prevent a human error from having serious consequences, this system was implemented on all lines of the network, having been completed in 1990.

Two electrical lines, lighting and power, were installed in the tunnels of the 3 lines, switched from the cabins of the Station Chiefs.
INSTALLATION OF AUTONOMOUS LIGHTING IN MADRID METROPOLITAN RAILWAY STATIONS
Work: 1988-91
It consisted of the installation of emergency lighting in the Metro stations. It included the wiring, the charging equipment and its pipes. Finally, it was marked with photoluminescent paint.
LUCERO ELECTRICAL SUBSTATION ON LINE 6 OF THE MADRID METROPOLITAN RAILWAY

An underground construction was built capable of housing the necessary equipment for the supply of electrical energy, as well as the communication facilities, remote control and the transformation room.
ENERGY DISTRIBUTION ON METRO LINES 2 AND 4
Work: 1990/91
Two power lines, lighting and power, switched from the station chiefs' cabins were installed.

Work: 1990/92
Cables were installed from the subway substations to the transformation rooms of each station. It included the architecture of these rooms and the installation of equipment (transformers, low boxes).

6.100 m of three-phase cable, 150 mm in diameter, were installed, of which 2.300 run through urban areas and the rest through Metro land.
PROGRAMMABLE AUTOMATION AND COMPLEMENTARY PROTECTION IN ELECTRICAL SUBSTATIONS OF THE MADRID METRO

In order to minimize the service recovery time, after a disturbance in the electrical supply to the rolling stock, it was necessary to equip the substations with a series of automatic equipment that replenished the energy without intervention from the central post.

The Metropolitan Company has an automatic telephone system independent of the public network. The purpose of this work was to provide the system with optical terminals.

With this action, the Automatic Telephone Network of the Metro was adapted to the needs of that moment and future forecasts, derived from the constant increase in traffic and its growing automation.
REFORM OF THE INTERLOCKING SIGN INSTALLATIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY
Work: 1988/89
In order to reduce the intervals between trains on Line 6, the existing signaling and ATP (Automatic Train Protection) installations were modified in the relay rooms of the Ciudad Universitaria and Metropolitano stations. Likewise, the installation and programming of the remote control system were modified.
SUPPLY OF AUTOMATIC PASSENGER CONTROL MACHINES

With the aim of extending automatic passenger control, the Metro network was equipped with 100 new turnstiles, 29 control desks, 29 end chests and the necessary spare parts.
REFORM OF THE TRACK AND OVERHEAD LINE ON LINES 3 AND 6 TO IMPROVE INTERVALS

The reduction of the intervals between trains was achieved by replacing the existing simple diagonals in the cul-de-sac with double diagonals and with the corresponding modification of the overhead line. This allows for faster maneuvering of trains at the head of the line.

This action consisted of the reform of the traction facilities to facilitate the conservation of the line.
ROAD RENEWAL (5TH AND 6TH PHASE)
Work: 1987/90
In the ballast tracks, the sleepers and the limestone ballast were changed for porphyritic. In the concrete ones, the support blocks of the track and the old concrete were replaced. In all cases, the lane was changed from 45 to 54 Kg/m.
REMODELING OF THE SECURITY FACILITIES AND ASSISTANCE FOR THE OPERATION OF THE NEW ALUCHE STATION

With this work, the security installations were adapted to the new distribution and operation of the Aluche Exchange Station.
