We want to make Madrid women aware of the need to maintain good healthy habits, especially to prevent diseases. Encouraging women from Madrid to take care of themselves and to consider their own health as one of their priorities, as well as promoting the practice of sport for women of all ages, is one of our main objectives in the Community of Madrid.
Healthy habits
The best medicine is to have a healthy life. Currently, personal well-being and healthy habits do not usually have a place in the agendas of women from Madrid.
The Directorate General for Equality started this program in 2014.

Maintaining good healthy habits is essential to stay healthy and fit beyond our age.
In our commitment to women leading a healthier life, this study shows us the lifestyle of the female population in our community, making us aware of the need to prevent diseases and maintain healthy lifestyles.
Prevent anorexia and bulimia
Anorexia and Bulimia They are part of the so-called Eating Behavior Disorders (ED), a set of disorders related to self-perception and distortion of body image that are expressed in the form of altered eating behaviors. Studies indicate that they affect women in a much higher percentage than men, and by age groups, they occur mostly in adolescence, but they also indicate that these diseases increasingly affect larger population groups, regardless of age. how old they are.
Women for the heart
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for women in Spain.
The Community of Madrid, the Mapfre Foundation, the Pro CNIC Foundation, the Spanish Heart Foundation, led the Women for the Heart program with the aim of raising awareness among women in particular and facilitating early recognition of the symptoms of cardiovascular diseases and promoting healthy habits. of healthy living.

The Wellness Days
Organized by the magazines "Saber Vivir", "Clara" and "Cuerpomente", all of them belonging to the RBA publishing group. The objective is to promote health care among women in Madrid by promoting healthy lifestyles, related both to the practice of sports activities and the assumption of certain eating and hygiene habits according to the needs of each population group. This program started in 2013 and since then there has been a desire to continue it through participation and support for activities and programs whose challenge is to raise awareness of this type of healthy behavior.
Women's Race
Since its launch, the Community of Madrid has supported the celebration of the Women's Race, a women's sporting event with the largest participation in Europe and the second most important race in the region after the San Silvestre Vallecana. The race is part of a circuit that encompasses different races of this type in several Spanish provinces, such as A Coruña, Valencia, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Seville, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Gijón.
