In case of accidents:
In any emergency call 112
How to act in a traffic accident
- Do not take unnecessary risks that would in no way improve the situation.
- Stop your vehicle off the road and mark the place. To do so, before leaving the vehicle activate the warnings, put on the reflective vest. On highways and motorways place an emergency triangle 50 meters before the accident site. On roads place one 50 meters in front and another 50 meters behind.
- Warning triangles must be visible at 100 meters. If for this you must increase the placement distances of the same, do it.
- Ask for help through:
- Mobile or car phones by calling the emergency number 112.
- "SOS" posts installed on the road.
- Through other drivers.
- Disconnect the engine of the accident vehicle. If you cannot access the ignition key, disconnect the cables leading to the battery.
- Immobilize the vehicle with stones, wood or any object that prevents it from moving.
- If there is no risk of fire or run over, do not try to remove the injured. Wait for the assists to arrive.
- If you fear the risk of fire, evacuate each injured person as follows:
- Stand behind the casualty.
- Put your hands under your armpits.
- Take your chin with one of the two hands and press it against your chest.
- With the other hand grab your forearm and pull up.
- If the injured person is bleeding profusely, cover the wound with a hand or fist and apply pressure with a handkerchief.
- If the casualty is unconscious, lay him on his side to prevent him from choking on his own tongue.
- If the injured person is a motorcyclist, do not remove the helmet and keep the head and torso in the same plane.
Prevention measures for cyclists and drivers

Public transport safety
Traveling with children
Traveling with children on public transport
Access with babies and children under 7 years of age is free on urban and intercity buses and on the Community of Madrid Metro. From 0 to 4 years old they can access all these modes of transport without needing to have the Children's Public Transport Card and from 4 years old and up to 7 years old, this card is necessary and is issued free of charge.
There are many measures so that traveling with children can be done in the most comfortable, fast and safe way: lifts, ramps that facilitate access with baby carriages, easy opening systems in screen doors or reserved seats in all modes of transport for people with babies and children.
Traveling with children on urban and intercity buses
Conditions of access and safety that must be observed by users traveling with children in strollers, seats or pushchairs deployed in regular public transport services for urban and interurban bus passengers:
Traveling with children by taxi
Current regulations exempt from the obligation to use restraint devices for the transport of children whose height does not reach 135 cm in taxi vehicles, only in the case of urban journeys and provided that they occupy the rear seats. In all other cases, it is mandatory for children who do not reach this height to use appropriate retention elements and, if they do not do so, the responsibility for the infraction will not correspond to the driver, but to the parents or guardians with whom they travel.
