You have at your service a body that has protected nature for more than 140 years.
You can find us throughout the natural territory of the region, although we also have performances with wildlife in our cities and towns. Our troops work for your environmental safety in the specific area covered by each of our 17 regional offices.
I found an injured wild animal. What do I do?
Spending a day in the countryside or residing in rural areas often involves finding an injured wildlife specimen, with symptoms of being sick, or directly finding the corpse of an animal. The first thing you should consider is to avoid risks if it is injured, and not to handle anything if it is a corpse.

Help us prevent forest fires
Forest fires constitute a threat to people, their property, and the conservation and biodiversity of our ecosystems. The Corps of Forestry Agents participates in fire prevention and extinction work as well as dealing with the investigation of their causes in forest land. Preventing this type of catastrophe is the task of all citizens.
If you detect a possible fire in the natural environment, make a phone call 112. Do not forget to take all the precautions and request the necessary permits for the use of machinery that can cause sparks in times of high fire risk.
Burning of vegetable remains
if you're going to burn plant remains on the mountain in time of low wildfire danger, you need an authorization from the Corps of Forest Agents. The purpose of this procedure is that we can help you to carry out the activity safely and that the emergency services are informed to avoid false alarms.

According to Law 1/2002, the Corps of Forest Agents of the Community of Madrid is considered a Special Administrative Police, and its members will hold the character of Agents of the Authority, when they serve in the exercise of their functions, for all legally pertinent effects.
In the Forestry Law in force in the State, the Forestry agent as: Official who holds the status of law enforcement officer belonging to the Public Administrations that, in accordance with their own regulations and regardless of the specific corporate name, is entrusted, among others functions, those of vSurveillance, police and custody of legal assets of a forest nature and of judicial police in the generic sense as established in section 6 of article 283 of the Law of Criminal Procedure, acting in an auxiliary manner to the judges, courts and the Public Prosecutor's Office, and in a coordinated manner with the Security Forces and Corps, with respect to the powers of its legislation regulatory organic.
- Police, custody and surveillance for compliance with regulations applicable law in the Community of Madrid, relating to forestry, flora, fauna, hunting, fishing, forest fires, ecosystems, inland waters, cattle trails, protected natural spaces, geomorphology, landscape and the correct use of natural resources and all that which affects the natural environment.
- Police, custody and surveillance of the Historical-Artistic Heritage and Archaeological located in the natural environment of the Community of Madrid.
- Police, custody and surveillance of flora and fauna species wild and trees cataloged as unique in the agricultural environment.
- Police, custody and surveillance of wild flora and fauna species and trees classified as unique in the agricultural environment.
- Police, custody and surveillance of native fauna species and trees classified as unique in the urban environment.
- Police and surveillance of domestic animals found, both in the natural and agricultural environment.
- Participation in defense and prevention work against pests, diseases or any cause that threatens the entire ecosystem.
- Intervene in the work of prevention, detection and extinction of forest fires, as well as in carrying out the investigation of their causes, in accordance with the provisions of the regulations applicable in the Community of Madrid and as required by the Administrative Unit on which they all depend, channeling all of this through their hierarchical superiors and in accordance with the protocols that may be established.
- Support and collaboration with other Services of the General Directorate on which they depend, in carrying out works, jobs, studies, services and other actions entrusted to them, as well as in preparing timely reports on these aspects, channeling them through their hierarchical superiors and in accordance with the protocols that may be established.
- Inform and guide citizens in all matters related to the use, enjoyment and conservation of the natural environment, as well as participate in environmental education programs for which they are required.
- Auxiliary, in case of accident, catastrophe or public calamity, or in other cases of civil protection.
- File the corresponding complaints and inspection records, acting, when the circumstances so require, in a coordinated manner with the Security Forces and Bodies, due to the concurrent matter.
- How many other functions could be assigned by the Administrative Authority to whom they depend, in cases of special need or urgency.
