1. What do you have to ask at the hospital before you leave?

Birth certificate of the newborn.

2. Procedures after the hospital
You forgot to ask for the birth certificate
You can request your birth certificate online through the website of the Ministry of Justice.
Registration in the Civil Registry after leaving the hospital
In the event that this procedure cannot be carried out from your hospital, you must go in person to the Civil Registry Office within 10 days.
Registration in the Municipal Register
Registration in the Register is carried out ex officio by the City Council through the information provided by the Civil Registry, registering the newborn at the address where both or one of their parents are registered, giving preference in the latter case to the address in which the mother is registered.
It is also possible to register newborns in the Register at the request of the parents who have their guardianship or custody, or, failing that, of their legal representatives.

4. Health card and allocation of pediatrician and nurse
The health card can be processed in person at the health center, taking the documentation relevant or via online if you have an electronic ID or digital certificate.

Assignment of pediatrician and nurse
Once you have the health card, you can request at the health center the assignment of a pediatrician and a nurse and the appointments for the follow-up of the newborn.
