How to cancel your registration
How and where do I request the cancellation?
Cancellation requires a face-to-face act before those in charge of the Registry. Depending on the case in question, the presence of one or both members of the union will be required. Cancellations are only made in the morning from 9:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., for this it is necessary to request appointment.
Exceptionally Cancellation may be requested by a representative with special power of attorney for this purpose, in the event that no interested party can attend in person. If the representative is obliged to interact through electronic means (article 14.2 c) of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations) he will submit the following form electronically: Application for Cancellation of the registration (through a representative with special power of attorney)
- The applicant or applicants must prove their identity (by DNI, Passport or Residence Card), pay the registration cancellation fee, sign the cancellation request form provided by the Registry, as well as present the documentation required in each one of the assumptions (detailed below).
- If all the necessary documentation has not been submitted, the Registry will grant the interested party a period of 10 business days to provide it, considering that the request will be withdrawn if not.
- The Registry will notify both parties (one in case of death) of the cancellation of the registration of the de facto union.
