Remote student admission
Admission to distance learning English language teaching in the 2022-2023 academic year is managed from the program page That's English! and takes place throughout the month of September 2022.
Admission free tests
See the "Free Trials" section.
What are they and how are they organized?
They are official studies that allow acquiring or improving skills in foreign languages, from the level of initiation to the level of competent user.
They are taught in the Official Language Schools (EOI), public educational centers owned by the Community of Madrid and are aimed, in general, at students over 16 years of age.
Also, in the EOI you can obtain a certificate of your level of competence in foreign languages, enrolling as a free student in the tests that are held annually.
From the 2018-2019 academic year, language teaching may be taught in face-to-face, semi-face-to-face or distance learning.
REGULATED TEACHING
The EOI offer courses from the basic level (A2) to advanced level (C2), broken down as follows for most languages:
Level A2, lasting two courses.
Level B1, lasting one course.
Level B2 with a duration of two courses.
Level C1, lasting one course.
Level C2, lasting two courses.
These levels correspond to those collected in the Common Framework of Reference for Languages.
At the end of each level, students must pass a certification test to continue to the next level. Passing this test allows you to obtain an official title that is valid throughout the national territory and that does not have an expiration date.
NON-REGULATED TEACHING
EOIs also offer refresher and improvement courses of different levels that allow improving certain skills or acquiring linguistic abilities aimed at professional development. This educational offer is renewed each academic year and you can consult it in the "Where to study" section. If you are interested in a course, you should contact the EOI that teaches it.
PRESENTIAL, BLENDED AND DISTANCE MODALITY
The courses can be organized in face-to-face mode, in which the reading activities are carried out entirely in the classroom, in virtual mode, with a maximum of 50% of activities in the virtual classroom, or in distance mode, in which the students they do not have to attend the center, even if they have tutorials.
In the Community of Madrid you can study and certify the following languages:
German, Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Danish, Spanish as a foreign language, Basque, Finnish, French, Galician, Greek, English, Irish (currently not taught or certified), Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian , Russian and Swedish.
You can also take Hungarian lessons, which are taught on an experimental basis.
You can find detailed information about the levels and languages offered by each of the EOIs in the "Where to study" section.
At least once a year, you will be able to take a certification test of your level of competence in the EOI and obtain, if you are eligible, an official certificate. To do this, you must register as a free student, generally throughout the month of April, and take the tests in June.
To take the test you must be sixteen years old in the year in which admission is requested. Each student decides at what level to apply, without there being registration requirements in this regard.
In addition to these dates, in the month of February in recent years a C1 level test of the English language has been convened. Enrollment in this test is done throughout the month of December.
You can get more information about the tests in the language certification page.
In the 2018-2019 academic year, the new language teachings were implemented, whose correspondence with the previous study plan is as follows:
