In this sense, the new law establishes in its Article 66 that consumers "shall have the right not to receive unwanted calls for commercial communication purposes." Another exceptions in which these calls may be made are those contemplated by law when "the communication can rely on another basis of legitimacy than those provided for in article 6.1 of the Regulation (EU) 2016 / 679 of personal data processing”.
This exception refers to specific circumstances, such as calls necessary for the execution of a contract, for the interests of the consumer or for the fulfillment of a mission of public interest.
