The Community of Madrid collaborates with the municipalities of Buitrago del Lozoya, Gascones and La Cabrera, contributing to their economic and tourist development and committed to providing these municipalities in the Sierra Norte with better facilities and resources, through the Regional Investment Program -PIR –.

Today the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, held a meeting with the mayors of Buitrago del Lozoya, Francisco Javier del Valle; La Cabrera, Ismael de la Fuente; and Gascones, Jesús Manuel Romero, with the aim of knowing the needs of these populations and the actions carried out by the regional government with the PIR.

"We want our 179 towns and cities to continue growing with equal opportunities, creating new infrastructures and resources, and reinforcing existing services, especially in smaller towns or those at risk of depopulation," he said. In this sense, he added that "the Sierra Norte is one of the most spectacular natural corners of the region, an enclave of enormous ecological and tourist value that all Madrid residents should know."

In this context, García Martín has visited the surroundings of the castle of Buitrago del Lozoya, which has a new paving and paving; and the Villa de San Roque Tourism Innovation Center in La Cabrera. It is a resource of the Community of Madrid, of which the 42 municipalities that make up the commonwealth of this environment are part, and which promotes a multitude of cultural and leisure activities, such as nature routes aimed at hiking or cycling. .

Lastly, in Gascones, the counselor took a tour of the town center, recently renovated, as well as getting to know other facilities such as the children's playground on Calle Mediodía, or the new sports area.
