The Community of Madrid will exercise popular action in the case of the violent death of a woman and her daughter in Móstoles on November 6
The Governing Council has learned at its meeting today of the request made to the General Counsel to appear, on behalf of the Community of Madrid, as popular accusation in the proceedings on the case of two violent deaths that are being followed in the Court of Violence against Women nº 1 of Móstoles.
This is a 29-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter who were stabbed to death, presumably by the husband and father of the victims, on November 6 at the family home in this Madrid town.
The appearance is one of the measures provided for in the Comprehensive Law against gender violence of the Community of Madrid, which extends its protection to both women and their children and dependents.
The regional government exercises popular action as a civilly injured party in criminal cases opened for death, serious injury or genital mutilation. Since 2016, the Community of Madrid has approved this power in 58 criminal cases.
After receiving the favorable report from the Community Attorney General, the Minister of Family, Youth and Social Policy, Concepción Dancausa, has issued the Order in which she entrusts the exercise of the necessary jurisdictional actions to be able to appear as popular prosecution in the aforementioned Judicial procedement.
