The Community of Madrid, in the XVI Blood Donation Marathon of the La Paz Public Hospital
The Minister of Health of the Community of Madrid, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, has participated today in the XVI Blood Donation Marathon organized by the La Paz Public University Hospital in the capital, in coordination with the Transfusion Center. Under the motto Without blood there is no life, this action began this Tuesday at the Cantoblanco and Carlos III headquarters, to conclude in La Paz yesterday and today, from 9:00 a.m. to 21:00 p.m.
Ruiz Escudero thanked Hospital La Paz for its involvement in this initiative, especially the Hematology and Hemotherapy Service and the Nursing staff, as well as the Military Emergency Unit (UME), which has collaborated in assembling the device. Likewise, he has highlighted the importance of actions like this to obtain "a substance that cannot be manufactured and that cannot be replaced with another therapy", thereby encouraging citizens to participate. La Paz is the highly complex center in Madrid with the highest number of blood donations in the last five years, exceeding 41.000.
