From Juana la Beltraneja to Pablo Picasso...lives and stories linked to Buitrago In the middle valley of the Lozoya, between the Riosequillo and Puentes Viejas reservoirs, this town stands on a promontory surrounded by the river. It was declared a historic-artistic site and a site of cultural interest in 1993. 

Its main tourist attractions include its ancient walled enclosure, the best preserved in the Community of Madrid, the Mendoza Castle,, the Arrabal Bridge or Old Bridge, the Clock Tower and Santa María del Castillo Church.Not forgetting the Picasso Museum, in the square of the same name, which houses the collection of Eugenio Arias, barber and friend of the great artist.
