In 2021, the process began to shape the Cultural Heritage Networks of the Community of Madrid: a project to promote and make visible those initiatives that promote the social, participatory and sustainable management of cultural heritage. During this time, many have shown interest in the project, some have already joined and others are on the way to becoming part of it.

La Day on citizen participation, Under the scientific coordination of Isabel Baquedano Beltrán and Montserrat Cruz Mateos, she presented some of the projects included in Redes, as well as different initiatives that share her philosophy and show us other ways of involving citizens in cultural heritage.

City councils, associations and universities, together with entities and individuals, participated in this day of reflection. It was an opportunity to find out how Madrid residents feel about heritage, where they want to take it and how institutions can support them.

Isabel Baquedano Beltrán

Doctor in archeology from the Complutense University of Madrid and faculty member of the Museum Corps of the Ministry of Culture. She has worked as a conservator in the dissemination department of the Museo del Traje (Madrid), as head of the deposits of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in other institutions, and as Head of the Conservation and Research department of the Regional Archaeological Museum of Madrid.

His training and professional experience has focused, primarily, on field archeology and research. With very diverse interests in the field of heritage, he has collaborated in temporary exhibitions, he has been an advisory member of the Community of Madrid and the Ministry of Culture, he has worked as a Support Technician for the Protection Area of the General Directorate of Heritage of the Community of Madrid and published various works and participated in conferences and other specialized forums in various fields of heritage. Currently she is Head of the Protection Area in the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Community of Madrid

Montserrat Cruz Mateos

After training as an archaeologist and restorer, she has collaborated in different excavations, cultural institutions, museums and research projects.

As a career civil servant, she has worked at the National Museum of Anthropology and the National Archaeological Museum in the Department of Numismatics and Medallion.

Since 2021, he has been working in the Community of Madrid in the Heritage Protection Area on different projects related to Archeology and Ethnological Heritage.

INSIDE FIELD. ARTISTIC PRACTICES BETWEEN THE COUNTRYSIDE AND THE CITY

Amelie Aranguren

Since 2011 he has been a member of Campo Adentro/Inland, an association and a project that deals with what happens in the rural world from an artistic sensitivity but with an important social content, demanding a reunion between the countryside and the city as a basis for sustainable development strategies. . She is currently responsible for the artistic programming of the Campo Adentro headquarters in Madrid, called the Rural Approach Center.

Between 2016 and 2017 she was artistic director of the Max Estrella gallery in Madrid. She was previously responsible for the activities of the Federico García Lorca Foundation, a foundation dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the poet's legacy and all artistic manifestations related to him. The Foundation promoted the construction and launch of the Federico García Lorca Center in Granada, the first institution in Spain that dedicates special attention to literature and specifically to the word, in all its forms: written, read, acted or performative.

Between 2001 - 2008 he coordinated Espacio Uno in the Reina Sofía Museum, a space dedicated to specific projects that had an international program of artists. Previously she worked with the artist Miquel Barceló cataloging his work and organizing exhibitions. Her first experience in contemporary art was as exhibition coordinator at the Jeu de Paume, Paris between 1994 and 1996.

CENTER FOR APPROACH TO THE RURAL (CAR) is located in the El Carmen neighborhood, in the Ciudad Lineal district. It is a space where creators, curators, researchers and rural agents can carry out production and research stays that experiment with art forms linked to social contexts and with an ecological perspective, combining the individual agenda of the participating artists with collaborative processes of joint creation. . The long-term vision of this program is to blur the lines between countryside and city through artistic processes across all projects and activities.

Fernando Vela Cossío

Archaeologist.

Doctor in Geography and History from the Complutense University of Madrid. University Professor, he is assigned to the Department of Architectural Composition of the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, where he teaches History of Architecture and Urbanism and Archeology of Architecture.

Specialist in conservation, restoration and intervention of architectural and urban heritage, he has directed archaeological and historical research work in numerous Spanish and Latin American complexes and monuments.

He has been Deputy Director of Academic Planning and Head of Studies at the Higher Technical School of Architecture between 2008 and 2021 and is currently Vice-Rector for Strategy and Academic Planning at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Director of the Traditional Architecture Research Center (CIAT)—a scientific-technological center focused on the study of traditional architecture and construction, the historic city, the cultural landscape and built heritage—he has developed different projects commissioned by the Directorate General Cultural Heritage of the Community of Madrid, among which the catalog of the architectural heritage built in "dry stone" of the municipalities of the Sierra del Rincón and other municipalities of the Sierra Norte of Madrid can be highlighted.

Joaquin Barrio Martin

Professor of Archeology and Conservation-Restoration of the Archaeological P., in the Department of Prehistory and Archeology of the UAM. He has been Department Director and member of the Faculty Board and the Governing Council of the UAM. Undergraduate and Master's degree teacher of subjects related to the Conservation and Restoration of Heritage at the UAM as well as in other national and international Universities, resulting in the direction of 55 Master's Theses and 10 Doctoral Theses, and also a researcher in the field of Archaeological Heritage with more than 70 i+D+io projects restoration contracts for Heritage Assets, having published a number of more than 180 books, book chapters, conference proceedings and articles in national or international magazines.

Creator in 2006 and current director of the Laboratory/Service for Conservation, Restoration and Scientific Analysis of the Archaeological Heritage of the UAM, belonging to the LaB Madri+D NETWORK, and integrated into the E-RIHS network, which is the European research infrastructure for the science of heritage (European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science), in the E-RIHS MOLAB (MObile LABoratory) and FIXLab modality.

Javier Salido

Professor of Archeology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Doctor from the Autonomous University of Madrid, he continued his postdoctoral career at the Carlos III University of Madrid (2010-2012), at the Spanish School of History and Archeology of Rome (2012-2015) and at the Complutense University (2016-2018). ).

His research has benefited from his stays abroad at prestigious institutions such as the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, DAI in Frankfurt, the Institute of Archeology (University of Oxford), 2009 and 2011 and the CSIC-Escuela Española de Historia y Archeology of Rome (EEHAR).

His research work has diversified into several lines of work, ranging from Production Archeology and the typology of archaeological materials from the Roman period to the analysis of late ancient ecclesiastical architecture. What stands out in his career is his participation as co-director of the archaeological excavations in the Social Archeology project at the El Rebollar site in El Boalo, in which he has directed five transfer projects and in the Learning and Social Inclusion Classroom at the Castillo Viejo site in Manzanares El Real.

Angel Morillo

Professor of Archeology at the Complutense University of Madrid. His scientific work has been aimed at understanding various aspects related to the process of Roman implantation in the northern region of the Iberian Peninsula. He has published numerous studies on Roman ceramics, numismatics, fortifications, navigation and trade and, especially, on Roman military archeology in Spain. He has participated in various research projects on different aspects of Hispano-Roman archeology (bath baths, numismatics, rural settlements, etc.), having directed several projects of the National Research Plan.

He has participated in a dozen surveys and excavations in Castilla y León (territory of León, bridge and road of Becilla de Valderaduey, in Valladolid), Extremadura (Pedrosillo military complex), and the Community of Madrid (late Roman-Emiral site of La Cabilda, Hoyo de Manzanares), as well as in the Roman León Master Plan.

Between 2016 and 2019 he was director of the magazine Spanish Archeology Archive, from the CSIC. Currently he is director of the department of Prehistory, Ancient History and Archeology.

Adelaida Bolea from Anta

Economist, Doctor in advertising and public relations. Full Professor in the Department of Applied Communication, in the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.

Professor of subjects related to audiovisual communication: radio and TV companies, cultural industries, etc., as well as the subject of advertising accounts, doctoral courses and direction of doctoral theses in the field of fashion, new technologies applied to advertising, film merchandising, etc. She has also been a Researcher at the COMEIN-UCM Group (Communication, methodology and innovation) and collaborates with the International Bobbin and Needle Lace Organization.

Since 2021, within the research group's projects, he has directed a project to enhance the collection of bobbin and needle lace in the collection owned by the Complutense University of Madrid.

Among other projects, the COMEIN-UCM group has been developing for several years, in collaboration with the CSIC, an educational innovation project with the application of new technologies applied to science teaching.

It has complementary training in business management and entrepreneurship, highlighting its selection in the programs; Scale Up from the IESE Business School and business consolidation from the INCYDE Foundation of the Ministry of Culture.

She is president of the non-profit association La Cultora where she develops European projects on social innovation and knowledge transfer. Currently La Cultora is a mediator of the Heritage Networks Program of the Community of Madrid.

Laura Galindo

A psychologist by training, I have been working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities for nearly 20 years. Her first in Castilla y León and for 14 years in Madrid. I define myself as passionate about social innovation projects that value the rights of people in situations of special vulnerability.

My main professional development has been at Plena Inclusion Madrid leading projects related to people in situations of special vulnerability due to health circumstances or social exclusion that aggravated their intellectual disability. Coordinator of projects linked to mental health, the prison population and gender and violence prevention projects. In the last 5 years promoting projects for access to justice in equal rights for people with intellectual disabilities.

2 years ago I made a change in my career to join APADIS, an association for the care of people with intellectual disabilities, with the project to transform the employment area and COFOIL. This transformation is focused on the integration of people with intellectual disabilities in their right to full citizenship through projects linked to the participation of people with disabilities in the community. As an example of this transformation, the collaboration project between the field of Cultural Heritage through the archaeological site of Manzanares del Real and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities arises.

Esther San Vicente

In 2019, at the hands of the Al Fresco - Museos Efímeros association, the Habitar el Esparto project was born in Villarejo de Salvanés, as a response to a lost esparta identity. Villarejo had been the national leader in the esparto cordage industry, which died when plastic was born and the use of synthetic fibers spread. The program of actions that the entity directed by Esther San Vicente has been developing was activated through artistic residencies and includes the publication of an artist's book, the creation of a board game, research into new uses such as esparto paper, construction of machinery and the consolidation of an artisan community committed to the transmission of knowledge.

Clara Alcala

Graduated in Art History from the Complutense University of Madrid, she has carried out her professional activity at the Hoyo de Manzanares City Council for 17 years. She is part of a solid team in the field of Local Development that understands her work from the necessary participation of multiple organizations and groups in order to revitalize the territory and its population from the empowerment of its own resources.

It is responsible for the development of tourism skills in the Local Development Area aimed at improving the quality of life and well-being of the inhabitants of Hoyo de Manzanares. It also implements actions and projects agreed upon with the business community and social agents to enhance the natural, social and cultural heritage of the municipality, taking into account sustainability values from an ecological, economic and social perspective.

It collaborates in collective construction processes at the local and regional level, with the aim of mobilizing the resources of the territory around a common project with the active participation of the entire population.

Andres Huerta

Graduated in Sociology, he has worked for 20 years as a local development technician, 12 of which he has done so in small municipalities in the Sierra Norte of Madrid where he has generated different community projects such as the traditional festival: La Vereda and the Villa de la led to the creation of the “Sierra Norte de Madrid Traditional Festivals Heritage Community.”

He has recently worked as a technical advisor for the evaluation of the development and results of the Educational and Heritage Innovation Laboratory in the implementation of the Sierra Norte Heritage Community, a project of which he was part as an editor. He is a speaker at conferences related to cultural heritage and a trainer for teachers in courses related to heritage education.
