2018 Short Film Week
20 years of shorts
The Short Film Week becomes the big screen of the short film in the Community of Madrid. He began his career at 1999 as a Short Film Show subsidized by the Community of Madrid. Two decades have passed and this time the show has become a festival and a prominent event of diffusion of the shortest cinema. It has been growing little by little, always trying to fulfill two fundamental objectives: the promotion of the short film to the general public and to be a point of professional meeting of the sector. The figures speak for themselves: in 2018 65 participated municipalities and the birth in 2017 of the Professional Forum of Short Film has been the culmination of a process of introduction of professional activities over time.
The Short Film Week consists of three fundamental axes:
- The projections that have as central point the official section but where special sessions are also included.
- Training activities, an essential element of the Week through workshops and meetings with great professionals who explain the keys to their work.
- The impulse to meet the sector through the Professional Forum of the Short Film created in 2017 in collaboration with the ECAM (School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid.
