Selection process "Photobook <40"
Aimed at any photographer under 40 years old.
Since 2017 the General Directorate of Culture and Creative Industries has launched "Photobook <40 ", an annual selective process whose purpose is the selection of a photographic project to publish a reference publication of said work. Given the difficulties that young photographers usually face in publishing their works in book format, this call was created to support and promote them.
The Community of Madrid considers support for the visual arts as one of the priorities of its cultural policy. For this reason, it develops an extensive program of exhibitions, projects and activities that aim to disseminate the work of both the great masters of photography and emerging and mid-career creators, promoting public access and knowledge of the different manifestations and trends around the photographic event, favoring debate and study on photographic production and stimulating the artistic context in the region.
