Chamber Opera Festival 2024
Opera comes to all audiences in Ópera a quemarrropa, a new festival dedicated to chamber opera promoted by the Community of Madrid for the nights of the month of July. Six productions, five of them absolute premieres plus a revival, are presented from the 12th to the 27th of that month in three towns with rich cultural heritage in the region: San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Aranjuez and Alcalá de Henares.
This first Chamber Opera Festival of the Community of Madrid was born to promote and disseminate this genre, "which is often perceived as reserved only for a privileged few," according to its artistic directors Ricardo Campelo and Ruth González, from Teatro Xtremo.
