Festivities of the Mutiny

Descents on the Tagus

The gardens
The beautiful historic gardens surrounding the Royal Palace are open to the public all year round. They are of different styles according to the time: 'Garden of the Prince', French landscape model; 'Garden of the Island', a Spanish Renaissance garden; 'Garden of the parterre', type of English garden; and the gardens of the 'King' and 'Isabel II', designed as closed gardens only visible from the palace.
