Cinema Pride

The Community of Madrid celebrates CINEMA PRIDE from 2016 in collaboration with the Triangle Foundation y Lesgaicinemad, an annual cycle of LGTB-themed cinema on the dates of commemoration of the Pride. A film week is proposed that highlights the importance of bringing the LGTBI + reality to all citizens at the hand of the seventh art. The programming of CINEMA PRIDE It is plural and international. Every year premieres are proposed that are combined with the screening of successful films, classics, documentaries and short films, forming a plural and diverse panorama of LGTBI + thematic film production in the world.
2019 edition
CINEMA PRIDE 2019 includes premiere films in Madrid (A BLOND, MAPPLETHORPE O I CALL ME VIOLET), also feature films that have gone through prominent international festivals such as THE HEIRS that competed and won the Golden Bear for Best Actress in Berlin, or already classic titles like THE DEATH OF MIKEL by Imanol Uribe. As every year, the of Lesgaicinemad will have a prominent presence in the programming of CINEMA PRIDE and, there will be an outstanding representation of short films (Spanish and international) and, in this edition, a session of English short films promoted by the British Institute. In addition there will also be documentaries and web series.

2018 edition
During five days, three sessions were held in the Alcalá 31 meeting room, in the afternoon, with free admission until full capacity is reached. The first starts at 17 hours, the second at 18: 30 pm and the third to 20 hours Monday, Day 25., the play directed in 1978 by Pedro Olea A man called autumn flower with José Sacristán as protagonist, based on the play Autumn flower of José María Rodríguez Méndez, one of the first films that addressed homosexuality in the Spain of the Transition.
Up to 25 films, including short films and feature films, were screened at five venues. To Alcala Room 31 the Circle of Fine Arts, The Eagle Complex, Pilar Miró Cultural Center and Cardenal Gonzaga Sierra Norte Cultural Center for Humanities from La Cabrera.
Many of the programmed screenings were attended by guests. To the session Blue and not so pink the director attended Miguel Ferrari and its protagonist Ignacio montes. Director Rubén Mendoza he presented Miss María 90. The actresses Fina Torres y Arlette torres were invited to the screening of Liz in September. Director Mario de la Torre of the documentary short film Pink Spring in Brazil presented a book about his work.
The programming was completed with a international palmares with short films from Puerto Rico, Uganda, Poland, Belgium and the United States, and a national palmares with the shorts Pool by Carlos Ruano, Zarpazo by Nerea Castro, The marriage by Víctor Quintero and Pink Spring in Brazil of Mario de la Torre.
La closing It took place on Friday 29 June, on the esplanade of The Eagle Complex (c / Ramírez de Prado nº 3) with the film from the United Kingdom Tierra de diosDirected by Francis Lee and interpreted by Josh O'Connor.
