That's how it was 1, 2, 3... PERFORMA! 2024
Living art proposal for children and families
1, 2, 3… PERFORMA! is an artistic proposal aimed at children in which they are invited to enter a creative universe where movement and art merge, guiding them through four interactive experiences inspired by prominent avant-garde pictorial movements of the XNUMXth century. They were able to immerse themselves in the world of color and form, exploring the principles of action painting and abstract art, among others.
In this new edition we collaborated again with Elisa Miravalles, a prominent artist in the field of performanceTheir unique approach to interacting with objects and their contributions to previous projects aimed at children have been essential to continuing to innovate and create enriching experiences in this field. Through a four-station program, the children not only enhanced their appreciation for art but also expanded their capacity for expression and creative thinking.
STATION 1 Action and Painting - Pollock Inspiration
We enter the dynamic universe of action painting, a nod to artist Jackson Pollock's iconic technique. Innovating on traditional dripping, we used string and various techniques to collaboratively weave through a large white mesh, recreating the painter's signature strokes.
STATION 2 Geometric abstraction - The world of Mondrian
Armed with square panels in primary colors, plus black and white, everyone present embarked on the task of creating a mosaic on the floor that emulates the famous compositions of artist Piet Mondrian. Spatial perception and creative thinking to solve challenges were our greatest allies when it came to discovering abstract art.
STATION 3 The beauty of nature inspired by O'Keeffe
At this station, we invited young artists to immerse themselves in a sensorial landscape that reflects Georgia O'Keeffe's vision. Using colorful fabrics, we brought her iconic flowers and landscapes to life. Through our own action, we composed transient works that resemble painting with air and color, capturing the ephemeral beauty of nature.
STATION 4 The Bauhaus Theater - Polyhedra in Action
Each day of 1, 2, 3... PERFORMA! concluded with this action inspired by Bauhaus theater. Using colorful polyhedrons, participants created structures that interact with their postures and movements, in an activity that intertwined dance, sculpture, and architecture—that is, connecting different artistic disciplines with a wealth of rhythm, balance, and geometry, just as the Bauhaus did.
