Café Gijón
The Generation of '98 and '27 were part of the intellectual gatherings of the Café with names such as Ramón y Cajal, Pérez Galdós, Pío Baroja, Gregorio Marañón or Severo Ochoa. Located at Pº de Recoletos 21, it was founded in 1888 by an Asturian based in Madrid. Casa Alberto
Casa Alberto is located in the same building where Miguel de Cervantes lived, on Huertas street. The Tavern-Restaurant was founded in 1827, it preserves all its classic recipes such as tripe, oxtail, beef meatballs, ham croquettes, Madrid-style cod or spoon dishes. Casa Ciriaco
In front of the Casa de la Villa, in the middle of Calle Mayor, we find Casa Ciriaco. Founded in 1897 and witnessed the attack on the royal party at the wedding of Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia. Casa Labra
Very close to Puerta del Sol (C / Tetuán, 12), a century-old tavern that has remained unperturbed since 1860. It witnessed the clandestine foundation of the PSOE at the hands of Pablo Iglesias. It keeps the service separate: food (tapas) is ordered in a kind of box office with a counter, and drinks are ordered at the bar. The cod and the cod croquettes are their specialty. Los Galayos
The bar / restaurant was inaugurated in 1894.
