PROGRAM

General objective: Know and fluently execute the selected self-rescue maneuver using the appropriate protocol.

Specific objectives: 

  • Know the self-help protocols with their guidelines to follow.
  • Select the maneuver appropriate to the circumstances and profile of the person.
  • Adapt the specific equipment of the rescuer to the manoeuvres.
  • Carry out efficiently the execution of each maneuver.
  • Analyze and carry out risk management in each action.

Maneuvers to develop:

  1. Self-help with long rope.
  2. Self-help with pedal.
  3. Self-help Croll vs. Croll.
  4. Descent by taut rope.

Requirements:

Be in possession of a federation license from the Madrid Federation of Speleology.

Have knowledge of rope progression in vertical caving.

Have your own approved vertical progression equipment.

Necessary equipment that the participant must provide:

  1. Comfortable sportswear.
  2. Closed footwear (sports or mountain shoes).
  3. Approved caving vertical progression equipment.
  4. Approved caving helmet.
  5. 9 mm and 3 m cord for making valdostane.
  6. Two 7 mm cords for machard.
